Kit lists

The kit below is compulsory and you will be checked and prevented from running if you do not have the correct kit.  This is the standard kit list you'll find for most trail races so we hope that it's things that you either have already, or will get plenty of use out of.  We'd strongly recommend wearing appropriate trail shoes for these events.

Please note: All of our races are cupless.  This is to reduce our impact on the planet.

For races 10 miles and under 

No kit necessary unless otherwise specified.

For races over 10 miles up to, and including, half marathons between 1 May and 31 October

​

Suitable sized pack / bag to carry kit

Container for at least 500ml of fluid

Thermal/wicking long sleeve top (this may be worn)

Space blanket

Waterproof jacket with taped seams

First aid kit, including a minimum of plasters, sterile dressing and bandages

Mobile phone

Hat or buff

All marathons (year round) and half marathons between 1 November and 30 April

​

Suitable sized pack / bag to carry kit

Container for at least 500ml of fluid

Thermal/wicking long sleeve top (may be worn)

Space blanket

Waterproof jacket with taped seams (or 10,000 hydrostatic head)

Waterproof trousers with taped seams (or 10,000 hydrostatic head)

First aid kit, including a minimum of plasters, sterile dressing and bandages

Mobile phone

Hat or buff

Whistle

At least 500 calories of food for emergencies only (i.e. must be with you at the end)

Additional kit for Ultras

Torch - capable of at least 12 hours (or have spare batteries to enable 12 hour usage)

Secondary light source (mobile light will suffice)

long leggings or thermals​

​

​gpx capable navigation device (such as watch or app on phone) - battery life must be capable of duration of event, or with battery back up (carried) [we will allow people to use maps as an alternative - but we must see the paper maps at kit check, and see that the race route is marked in some way]
